Introduction:

Do you have a file or program that you use on a regular basis? Is this file buried somewhere within the hard drive or a long series of menus? By adding a shortcut on your Desktop, you can provide an easier method of launching that file or program.

Later, if you wish, you can delete a shortcut without deleting the file it is linking to.

Creating a shortcut

1.

Browse your computer to locate the file or program.

2. Right click on the file.

3. Choose copy from the menu.

4.

Close the current window.

5.

Right click on the desktop.

6.

Choose Paste Shortcut from the menu.
